Less Than 2 Percent At Paulding Nursing Homes Have COVID-19

It could be worse: At Georgia's hardest hit nursing home in Jackson, every resident has the coronavirus — and one in four have died from it.

DALLAS, GA — As the number of COVID-19 cases in Georgia nursing homes continues to soar, Paulding County can take comfort in knowing it’s not happening here.

According to statistics released Friday by the Georgia Department of Public Health, less than 2 percent of the 254 residents at three Paulding facilities have tested positive for the coronavirus. Only one has died.

That’s much better than the statewide average of about 19 percent positive. So far, 962 residents of Georgia nursing homes or personal-care facilities have died of COVID-19.
