  2. Metro Bag, a paper products distributor in Paulding County, Georgia, has reported being the victim of check fraud. The business owners claim that thieves stole outgoing and incoming mail, including Metro Bag checks, and washed them. In addition, checks from customers to the company were also stolen. The thieves used multiple vendor checks to open a checking account at Navy Federal Credit Union, according to Metro Bag's owners. Despite multiple calls to the bank, the owners are having trouble convincing them that identity thieves opened the account in their name. (WSB-TV)
  3. Georgia residents, get ready to "spring forward" as daylight saving time begins on March 12, providing longer evenings and more outdoor recreation opportunities. While Senate Bill 12 proposed that Georgia observe standard time and be exempt from daylight saving time, it failed, and Gov. Brian Kemp signed a bill into law in 2022 making daylight saving time permanent. However, the law is still pending approval from Congress and President Joe Biden, with the Sunshine Protection Act, which provides for year-round daylight saving time.
