  1. Austin Harvey, a Hiram native and senior at Kennesaw State University (KSU), was featured as one of the university's "History Makers" in celebration of Black History Month. Harvey is the president of the Tau Zeta chapter of the Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity and has received numerous awards and recognitions through KSU. His biggest passion is mentoring young professionals through his business, AMH Professional Consulting, where he leverages his knowledge from internships and networking groups to help others build their resumes and explore career options.   2. The City of Hiram is hosting a city-wide Easter Scavenger Hunt from Monday, Apr. 3, through Thursday, Apr. 6! Participants can search for five hidden prize eggs at different locations in the city each day. The event will kick off at Homer Leggett Memorial Park/Hiram Hounds Dog Park; additional details will be announced in the coming weeks. (City of Hiram via Facebook)
  3. Follow the yellow brick road to the Dallas Theater! Next month, the Main Street Teens will present their rendition of The Wizard of Oz; opening night is Friday, Mar. 3 at 7 p.m., with closing night on Sunday, Mar. 12 at 3 p.m. Tickets are available for purchase online; visit the Dallas Theater website for more details on this and other shows this season.   4. The Maude P. Ragsdale Hiram Library will be hosting three homeschool hangouts this March! Each event, geared toward children ages 6-12, will be held at 1 p.m. at the library on alternating Thursdays. The Mar. 2 event will be dinosaur themed, while Mar. 16 will celebrate St. Patrick's Day; the last event of the month, Mar. 30, will be a "Spring Fling." (Maude P. Don't miss the New Georgia Public Library's Crochet Club event, scheduled for today (Thursday, Feb. 23) from 2-4 p.m. Attendees can bring their works-in-progress or start something new with the group.
