Paulding Child-Protection Group Sells Door Bows To Support Center
Paulding's Child Advocacy Center in Dallas is selling blue bows to raise funds and awareness of National Child Abuse Prevention Month.

DALLAS, GA — A Paulding organization dedicated to protecting children is selling blue-ribbon door bows to be displayed throughout April.
The connection? April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, and blue is the color associated with abuse prevention, according to the Paulding Child Advocacy Center’s website.
Executive Director Ivy Capps told Patch that she brought the idea with her from Dothan, Alabama, where the child-advocacy center there had sold blue ribbons for many years. Capp started the Paint Paulding Blue Campaign in 2019.

Each blue-ribbon bow — prepared by Lana Pruett with the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office — costs $10. So far, about 350 bows have been sold.
“I had someone tell me it was best to sell ten $10 bows to ten individuals than to receive a hundred dollars from one person, because you have reached more individuals and educated them about Child Abuse Awareness Month,” Capps wrote in an email to Patch.
