  3. County officials are warning residents of a recent door-to-door scam where individuals are impersonating Paulding County Water staff members. Individuals are going door to door in Paulding County, looking at meter boxes, and stating there is a water quality concern in the area. According to reports, these individuals are causing concern to market water filtration devices. If Paulding County personnel come to your home, they will identify themselves and have County-issued ID. Otherwise, these individuals are not Paulding County staff.   4. A threatened rail strike could affect several thousand rail workers in Georgia, including the Norfolk Southern location here in Hiram. The rail strike could potentially tie up thousands of containers at the Port of Savannah while adding to delays and costs for consumers and companies. (Subscription: The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
  5. Last week, State Superintendent Richard Woods presented Paulding County High School and McGarity Elementary School with STEM Certification Banners. For PCHS, the banner confirms the school's five-year STEM recertification, indicating students have more hands-on, project-based learning opportunities while integrating math and science. Superintendent Woodspresented McGarity Elementary School its first STEM banner, which became official in March 2022. (Paulding County School District)
