  1. Paulding County Sheriff's officers ran an intense obstacle course the other morning as part of an ongoing training course. This is just part of the lengthy process involved in becoming a Deputy Sheriff. Once the officers pass the Obstacle Course, they can proceed to the Basic Mandate Course.   2. On Dec. 12, seven Paulding County Schools received Paulding Education Foundation's School Grants for 2022-2023. Each grant is worth $3,000. The winning schools are Hiram High School, East Paulding Middle School, Roberts Elementary School at Mt. Tabor, McGarity Elementary School, Russom Rhinos, Sara M.   4. A total of 15 Paulding County students were awarded first place in their categories at the 2022-2023 PCSD Student Technology Competition. The 18 projects were entered by three different schools: Sam D Panter Elementary School, Sheldon Elementary School, and New Hope Education Center's Paulding Virtual Academy. The projects were entered into eight different categories across two divisions. The winning students will move on to the Northwest Georgia Regional Competition on Jan. 27.
