Paulding Seeks Firefighters: How To Apply

Anybody interested in taking a job saving lives is welcome to take the certification course and apply.

PAULDING COUNTY, GA — The Paulding County Fire Department is seeking new firefighters, according to the county's website. The tough job revolves around responding to fires and other emergencies.

The county says the position requires passing the National Professional Qualification 1 certification, and there are scheduled recruit classes.

There are eight full time positions open, and they pay $13.50 to $20.33 per hour.

Applicants who pass the test will be kept on a list for future positions, and state certified firefighters are eligible for immediate employment.

  • Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education.
  • Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
  • Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
  • Ability to meet current requirements set forth by the National Fire Protection Association and the Georgia Firefighter Standards and Training Act.
