Paulding to Host Obstacle Race

Early registration is now open for the fall Savage Race, a 5- to 6-mile obstacle run that features mud, fire and barbed wire.

The Savage Race will be held Sat., Oct. 5, at the Moonlight Stables Equestrian Center in Dallas, but organizers are offering a discount on registration through Aug. 8. From now until that date, the cost is $69.

"Due to extreme obstacles, this venue requires additional insurance," according to the race website. "A $15 surcharge will be added."

After Aug. 8, the cost will rise to $79 until Aug. 29, $89 until Sept. 19 and $99 until Oct. 2.

While the Savage Race features 25 obstacles, the reward for those who complete it include beer, barbecue, trophies and T-shirts.
