Qualifying for Dallas City Elections Begins Monday

Elections for mayor and two council posts will be held in the Nov. 3 general election.

In accordance with the Charter of the City of Dallas, Georgia, and the State Election Code, The City of Dallas will hold a General Election on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at Dallas City Council Chambers, located at 129 East Memorial Drive, Dallas, Ga from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

At this General Election, there shall be elected for four (4) year terms, as provided by the Charter of the City of Dallas, the following Officials: Mayor, Ward Two Councilmember, Ward Four Councilmember at Large

Candidates may qualify to be on the ballot during normal business hours at Dallas City Hall, 129 East Memorial Drive, Dallas, Ga., beginning at 8:30 AM Monday August 31, 2015 and ending Wednesday September 2, 2015 at 4:30 PM, except 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM.

As required by O.C.G.A. 21-2-131, the qualification fees shall be $300.00 for the Office of Mayor and $150.00 for the Office of Councilmember.

Deadline to register to vote in the election is October 5, 2015. Qualified persons must register at the Paulding County Registrar’s office, 240 Constitution Blvd., or any qualified Registrar’s location, to be eligible to vote in the general election.
