Report: No Bats at Highway 92 Widening Site

The process of widening Georgia Highway 92 stalled while officials determined if species of an endangered bat would be disturbed by the construction.

A potential barrier to widening Paulding County's north-south corridor has been removed.

The Paulding Neighbor reports that the process of widening Georgia Highway 92 stalled while officials determined if species of an endangered bat would be disturbed by the construction.

Paulding Department of Transportation Director Scott Greene this week told the Paulding Neighbor that a study found no bats.

Property must still be obtained for the first phase of construction, which is scheduled to begin in 2017.
