Here are the top five stories today in Dallas-Hiram:
- Registration is now open for this year's Paulding Rides For Wishes charity bike ride on Oct. 8 on the Silver Comet Trail. Riders can register on-site beginning at 7:00 a.m., but those who register before Sep. 23 will receive a long-sleeve tee shirt in their chosen size. All proceeds from the event will go to support Make-A-Wish Georgia. (Press Release Desk)
- Three Paulding County middle schools were recently recognized for their involvement in the Achieve 3000 literacy intervention program. The innovative program is designed to foster a culture of literacy that accommodates students of all levels through targeting instruction, growth measurement, and performance forecasting. - The Paulding County Department of Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Affairs is sponsoring several dance classes for kids at Mount Tabor Park and Burnt Hickory Park this fall. The programs include several ballet classes for kids from 18 months to five years old, as well as a Fundamental Dance curriculum for children between the ages of six and nine. - Performer Chad Gibson will return to the Dallas Theater & Civic Center next month for his popular tribute to Elvis Costello.
