Rumors Of Weapon At South Paulding High, Only Rumors: Police

PAULDING COUNTY, GA — The Paulding County Sheriff's Office said rumors at South Paulding High School about a weapon Thursday, were just that — rumors.

Thursday, "Unsubstantiated rumors began swirling around at South Paulding High School regarding a possible weapon being at school," a Sheriff's Office Facebook post reads. "The rumors were shared on social media which incited concern amongst students and parents.

"Additional deputies immediately responded to South Paulding High School to investigate the rumors. School administrators and deputies have been unable to track down the originator of the rumors, any of the social media posts, or any students with a weapon.

"At this point, the school is and has been functioning at normal operations. Please remember, if you see or hear a threat of violence toward a school, call the school or 911 to report it."
