- Two people have been arrested after a fight broke out between parents and a substitute bus driver on a Paulding County school bus on Jan. 18. Both Crystal Dawn Johnson, 43, and Taβmara Tyisha Aborn, 28, were arrested and charged with battery, although authorities have not yet stated how the two were involved in the incident. The event was caught on video and went viral on TikTok. (WSB-TV)
- School choice opens soon. Under state law HB251 & SB10, the parent or guardian of a student currently enrolled in the Paulding County School District may request to transfer their child to another school in the district for the 2023-2024 school year. Enrollment is open from Feb. 6 to Feb. 17 and must be made through Parent Portal under the "More" option from the Index. (Paulding County School District)
- Johnny Hunt finds a new venue for his men's conference. Despite recent accusations of sexually assaulting another pastor's wife, the former president of the Southern Baptist Convention will host his Johnny Hunt Menβs Conference Mar. 17-18 at New Season Church. New Season Church's pastor was ordained by Hunt. (The Roys Report)
- A fire broke out at a Georgia fire station over the weekend while crews were responding to a house fire. About an hour northeast of Atlanta around 10:45 a.m., Hall County Station No. 5 firefighters accidentally left the stove on when they responded to a residential fire. According to Chief Chris Armstrong, no one was injured and the stove was minimally damaged. (Yahoo Entertainment)
