Severe Storm Threat Friday Afternoon, Evening: Georgia Weather Forecast
Storms can produce strong winds, frequent lightning and heavy rains, according to National Weather Service.
ATLANTA, GA β Scattered thunderstorms are expected Friday afternoon and evening across portions of north and central Georgia, according to the National Weather Service.
A few storms could be strong, producing wind gusts around 40 mph and frequent lightning strikes, according to the weather service.
"Due to abundant moisture and the slow movement of any storms today, locally heavy rainfall can be expected," according to a weather service statement. "There is an increased potential for localized flooding."
