Girl, 14, Is Stable After Being Hit By A Car Walking To Football Practice: Report

Kendall Thomas, a football player at North Paulding High School, is in stable condition after being hit by a car last week leaving school.

PAULDING COUNTY, GA — A 14-year-old North Paulding High School student is showing signs of improvement after being hit by a car last week while leaving school, the girl's mother told WSB-TV.

Shanna Thomas told WSB-TV that her daughter, Kendall, is now stable. The football player was hit by a car last Tuesday while walking to practice from school — and her 11-year-old brother saw the whole thing, as well as other students, WSB-TV reported.

"The students on the other side were yelling, 'No, Kendall.' But by the time they yelled no and she stopped, it was too late," Shanna Thomas told the news outlet.
