  1. The Paulding County Sheriff’s Office shared a tribute to Deputy Marshall Samual Ervin, Jr., who was fatally shot in the line of duty on Sep. 8. Ervin is a graduate of East Paulding High School, where he met his wife Jodi. He is survived by Jodi and his two daughters, Mayleigh and Kourtlee, of Dallas.   2. Paulding County Parks, Recreation & Cultural Affairs invites the community to a family-friendly Concert and Fireworks at the Pole Barn in nearby Powder Springs. The event is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 1 with festivities kicking off at 5 p.m. Attendees can enjoy food vendors, games, live music, and a firework show at dark.   3. In celebration of National Coffee Day, Ellianos Coffee will be giving away free coffee. Anyone who heads to a drive-thru location on Thursday, Sep. 29 will receive one free medium hot or iced coffee (no other purchase necessary).
