- Local businesses are a cornerstone of our community. If you want to support them, there's no shortage of upcoming events with the Paulding Chamber of Commerce, including Hearts For Heroes on Nov. 5, Gurkha Cigars Poker Night on Nov. 9, and First Friday VIBE$ on Dec. 2. - Yesterday morning, the Paulding County Sheriff's Office has announced its latest promotions. Corporal Britton McCann has joined Uniform Patrol Division, while Detectives Linda Wix and Joshua Matthews are adding their skills to the Criminal Investigations Division. Meanwhile, the Juvenile Division added three new detectives to the roster: Detective Bruce Brott, Detective Chad Murphy, and Detective Suzi Massey all received promotions! - Hiram High School is looking for volunteers for its annual HHS Reality Fair Event on Monday, Nov. 14. Each year, the school invites the local middle schoolers to experience a "taste of reality" regarding their career options, the cost of living, and other real-life decisions.
HHS is in need of booth workers who can be available from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided. Interested parties can complete this form to apply as a volunteer. Besides learning about Crime Scene Investigations Unit and Silver Comet Patrol Unit, the cubs got to meet the K-9 Unit, too! The Sheriff's Office shared some adorable photos from the visit. - Making plans for Halloweekend? Next Saturday, Oct. 29, head to Main Street in Dallas for a scary-fun "Spooky Shopping" event from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. There will be a costume contest, a magician, photo ops, and refreshments available. Participating shops include Kitsch & Color, Tin Bucket, 213 on Main, Basic to Boujee, Art Things, and Vintage Wine Bar. (City of Dallas GA)
