- The Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church will host a community voter registration drive tomorrow, Sep. 11, beginning at 12:15 p.m. The event is co-sponsored by the Douglas-Carroll-Paulding Counties Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., whose members will be onsite to assist with registration activities. All eligible voters are encouraged to attend and confirm their registration status before the Nov. 8 election. (Dallas-Hiram Patch)
- Make your voice heard in the third and final round of public input for the Paulding County Comprehensive Transportation Plan. On Thursday, Sep. 29, county officials will host a public open house for community members to share feedback and ask the planning team questions. You can drop in any time from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at The Events Place in Hiram or offer your input online starting Sep. 30. (Paulding County, Georgia via Facebook)
- Members of the Paulding County Sheriff's Office shared messages of sympathy and solidarity after two deputies in neighboring Cobb County were killed in the line of duty on Thursday. The incident occurred that evening at a west Cobb home, where the deputies had been serving a warrant for failure to appear. Two suspects were taken into custody and were identified as Christopher James Cook Jr. and Christopher Patrick Golden. (Officer.com)
- On Thursday, 30 junior class athletes from the Paulding County School District attended a one-day leadership conference at West Ridge Church on Hiram Acworth Highway in Dallas. With the help of conference leader Jack Williams, founder of the IDEALS Leadership School, participants learned how to become more effective decision-makers and work toward common goals.
