🌱 What Roe V. Wade Ruling Means For GA + Hiram High Hiring

Here are the top five stories in Dallas-Hiram today:

  1. On Friday, the Supreme Court overturned the Roe v. Wade decision, ruling that individual states may outlaw abortion. According to the Guttmacher Institute, Georgia could potentially ban abortions after six weeks, when a fetal heartbeat is typically detected. The state has also implemented the "Heartbeat Law" as of 2019; the fetus' viability, as well as the patient's health, must be determined on an individual basis by a doctor. (Georgia Patch)
  2. Hiram High School is looking to fill several positions for the 2022-23 school year. The school is seeking teachers in social studies, math, and special education math, as well as an assistant band director. Click here to learn more and apply to open roles. (Hiram High School)
  3. Speaking of Hiram, the city will launch its Independence Day celebrations next weekend. Next Friday, Jul. 1 is the Red White & Bark pet show, starting at 6:30 p.m. at Homer Leggett Memorial Park.
