  1. Former Park Valley Home apartment manager Emanuel Hollins is suing the multibillion-dollar Lyft Company after being shot in the head by one of its contracted drivers. According to statements, the incident took place following a call to bring Hollins to his job, which was located in Decatur. Accompanied by his attorney, Hollins gave a press conference explaining the details of what took place on Dec. 28, 2020. (Courier Journal)
  2. If you're still wondering where you could go for some Fourth of July fun, you may want to try out what Avondale Estates has to offer. The return of their infamous Fourth of July Parade featuring bright lights, fireworks, Lightning McQueen, the Toy Story Pizza Planet truck, and lots of food, music, and games, await you.   3. Alondra Hobbs is being charged with second-degree and felony murder, four days after the remains of her 7-year-old daughter were found. The 7-year-old's deceased body was found by a neighbor in a Decatur apartment that was reportedly vacant for the past few months. According to some neighbors, they were unaware that a child lived there during the time the apartment was rented. (Raleigh News & Observer)
