2. Twilight Concert at Emory. TheΒ Emory Summer Band performs popular classics at 8 p.m. Thursday, July 12, at the Jenkins Courtyard of the Goizueta Business School at Emory University, 1300 Clifton Road, Atlanta. There's free parking in the Fishburne Parking Deck.

. Remember that it's not as easy as it used to be. As of July 1, you have to do it in person and provide photo identification, a Social Security card and proof of residence in the state.
4. On this date: In 1984, Democratic presidential candidate Walter F. Mondale named New York Congresswoman Geraldine A. Ferraro his running mate. She became the first woman to run on a major party ticket.
