1. Weather. High temp in the low 90s, low temp in the low 70s. Chance of rain between 30 and 60 percent through the day.

2. . Students at the summer camp at Agnes Scott College will perform a song and dance from The Lion King, Grease, and Hairspray at 6 p.m. at the college. The performance will be repeated at 6 p.m. Friday. Free.

3. A family of writers. The mother and son writing team of Iris and Roy Johansen will discuss their new book "Close Your Eyes" at 7 p.m. Thursday at Eagle Eye Bookshop. Free.

4. Firearms seminar. If you want to learn more about how to safely handle guns, the Avondale Estates police is holding a citizens' seminar on "Firearm Ownership in the Home" from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 21 at city hall.
