  2. Chief Deputy Randy Akies is set to retire after three decades of service. The DeKalb County Sheriff made the announcement yesterday. Akies was appointed Chief Deputy by Sheriff Melody M. Maddox. According to reports Akies was one of the highest, non-elected offical's in the agency. Akies served the county for 30 years. (11Alive.com WXIA)
  3. Superintendent Maggie Fehrman's hard work and dedication is paying off. Permits she fought for and won, will provide affordable housing for teachers and staff within the district.
