β€œA good project manager has to successfully juggle multiple components to keep a home renovation or custom home project moving smoothly, and he or she must clearly communicate with the homeowner,” said Shuster. β€œWith the country’s current supply chain issues, the process has become more complicated, making good project managers even more valuable to our business and our clients. Hannah comes to us after several years of hands-on experience with another construction company, and James brings a unique skill set to Alair developed through his two careers in construction and practicing law. We are delighted to welcome them both to our team.”

Hannah Howland’s love of construction started early, as she helped her dad with various home improvement projects, and developed her carpentry skills. After being home schooled and exploring other employment options, Howland was hired by Atlanta’s Benjamin Andrews Construction, and over five years, worked her way up from doing trim and carpentry to estimating, sales and office management. She is a member of NARI Atlanta and was named a β€œ2019 Rising Star of the Home Industry” by My Home Improvement magazine. She lives in Buford, Ga.

James Matthews excels in the skills that have served him both as successful attorney and an outstanding project manager: managing multiple priorities, keeping a team on track and on budget, excellent communication skills and critical thinking. A desire to change professions, coupled with a job offer from Yerkes Primate Center for his wife, a primate behavior specialist, led the couple to move from Texas to Atlanta, where Matthews accepted an offer from Alair Decatur as a Project Manager. Matthews is a graduate of the University of Texas, and earned his law degree from Pace University in White Plains, NY. He and his wife, Jaine, live in Decatur with their teenage daughter.
