Amplify Decatur Festival Raises $40K To Combat Homelessness
Amplify Decatur Festival raised and donated $40,000 to nonprofit group fighting poverty and homelessness.

DECATUR, GA -- Not only did more than 2,000 people enjoy the recent Amplify Decatur concert series held in the Square, but the event did a lot of social good, raising $40,000 for a nonprofit organization that works to alleviate poverty and homelessness across DeKalb County.
The concert series, put together by a partnership including the nonprofit group Amplify My Community, live music venue Eddie's Attic and Lenz, a Decatur-based marketing agency, donated the proceeds to the Decatur Cooperative Ministry (DCM) in the festival's largest gift ever.
The April 22 event was headlined by three-time Grammy winner Lucinda Williams and featured performances by Noah Gundersen, John Moreland, Harold Holloway & Company, Packway Handle Band, and Kristen Englenz & The Committed.

“Our goal is to create a premier festival experience that unites the community through the quality of the event itself as well as through the compassion of helping others,” Drew Robinson, president of the board of Amplify My Community, said in a statement.
“Anyone who attended the event will recognize how special this community is, as hundreds of volunteers, sponsors, restaurants, beer vendors, citizens, city officials, police force, and artists came together to create a magical night,” said Lenz President and CEO and Amplify Advisory Board Chairman Richard J. Lenz.
