Are You Ready for the Decatur Book Festival?

Bookworms from across the metro area will be flocking to Decatur this weekend to take in everything this year’s AJC Decatur Book Festival has to offer.
The festivities kick off at 10 a.m. Saturday and runs until 6 p.m. On Sunday, the festival will be open from noon to 6 p.m. Organizers estimate 85,000 people will attend the weekend event, with some 150 exhibitors, 600 speakers, and 200 booths taking over downtown, according to the city’s website.
Featured authors at the festival include Erica Jong, Judy Schachner, Michael Listner, Brian Heston, and many more. The full schedule of festival sessions can be browsed here.

Traffic in and around Decatur has already been affected by the event; workers started installing various items off the main roads on Thursday, and street closures are already in place on N. McDonough, Ponce de Leon, S. McDonough, E. Court Square and Sycamore Street.
Decatur police are responsible for installing no parking signs along the roads affected by the book festival, the city website says.
