While Washington regulators tout expanded choice, advisers fear everyday savers may not fully grasp the added risks, especially when managing long-term retirement money.

THE CLASSIC: Webb School Spartans of Knoxville knock down 16 3s in first-round win over Columbia Eagles (heraldcourier.com) — A boys’ basketball team from Decatur’s Columbia High hit a rough patch Friday, falling in the first round of The Classic tournament at Tennessee High School. Coach Miguel Johnson sensed trouble early as Knoxville’s Webb School rained in 16 three-pointers, overwhelming the Eagles despite their efforts to adjust defensively and stay competitive.
   

4. Atlanta mother loses two kids to gun violence, police searching for latest son's killer (kens5.com) — A mother who once lost a son in a 2020 Decatur robbery is now grieving her eldest, 30-year-old Darryl Long, fatally shot in southwest Atlanta on December 8. Atlanta police and Crime Stoppers are asking anyone with information about Long’s killing to come forward, with a reward of up to $5,000 available.
