Arrests Pending in Gambling Sweep: DeKalb Police

Search warrants related to gaming machines executed at eight businesses, police say.

DECATUR, GA -- Several arrests are pending after police in DeKalb County along with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation searched eight businesses Tuesday on suspicion of commercial gambling related to gaming machines, Patch has learned.

The massive sweep was done with the cooperation of the Georgia Lottery and state Department of Revenue, the GBI said.

All of the affected establishments, which are located on Glenwood Road, were licensed to run coin-operated amusement machines, but investigators said that customers were being paid in cash from the winning credits.
