Big Peach Stores to Hold Mile of Silence at 7 A.M. Tuesday
The Decatur store will take part in the event. It's a way to remember and support those who were killed or injured in The Boston Marathon explosions on Monday.
A locally owned chain of retail stores serving Atlanta's runners and walkers is holding a Mile of Silence event to remember the victims of Monday's Boston Marathon bomb explosions that left at least three people dead and dozens of others injured.
The event, a mile-long moment of silence, will be held at 7 a.m. each of the seven .

"Runners, walkers, people who just want to feel the love, but don't want to run or walk, are all welcome," said Karen Kaye, BGPC's communications director, told Patch.
The moment of silence run was going to be a small gathering of runners at the Midtown store as a way to bring Atlanta's running community together in light of the recent tragedy. However, news of the memorial event spread quickly once posted on social media.

"It went beserk. It exploded like crazy on social media," said Kaye, known as @PeachyRuns on Twitter and as K2 to the Atlanta running community.
Within minutes, her phone was ringing off the hook as well, and people wanted to know how they could participate if they could not make it to Midtown on Tuesday morning.
"I'm overwhelmed by what has happened," she said and knows that others in the running community feel the same. She hopes the event will serve as a way for Atlanta-area runners to grieve and honor the victims.
"It's an emotionally trying time," she said.
