One Arrested After Hours-Long SWAT Standoff Over Bomb Threat
Police said a man was threatening to detonate an explosive device near a set of propane tanks at a DeKalb Kroger.
DEKALB COUNTY, GA -- One person is in custody after an hours-long SWAT standoff at a Kroger in unincorporated Decatur. Police negotiated with the suspect, who was allegedly threatening to blow himself up near the store's outdoor propane tanks section. The store is located on Flat Shoals Road near Flakes Mill Road.
SWAT and bomb teams were called in, and negotiators convinced the suspect to surrender.
The shopping center was evacuated, and nearby schools were put on alert. A DeKalb schools official said all students were safe during the incident.

The name of the man has not been released, and police said there was no danger to the public.
