Brick Store Pub Fails Health Inspection

A popular Decatur restaurant in the cityβs historic district failed its recent health inspection because of mechanical issues.
The Brick Store Pub β winner of 10 consecutive Best of Atlanta honors -- is a popular place for food and its variety of beers. An inspector recently gave it a failing score of 59, reports WSB TV, down from 81 a year ago.
Some foods were not kept at a cold enough temperature, the TV station says, including onions, tomatoes and chicken strips. The inspector also saw water leaking near an upstairs dining area and an employee failed to restrain his/her hair, beard or mustache.Β

The restaurantβs general manager told WSB some of the cooling equipment had malfunctioned the day of the inspection. The inspection report confirms that a repairman arrived during the visit.Β
Another inspection is expected within a week, and the manager said every violation is being addressed before then.Β

Friends Dave Blanchard, Mike Gallagher and Tom Moore opened the pub in 1997 after having worked in the bar/restaurant business for a combined 20+ years in Athens and Atlanta, according to the business website.
