  1. A new Decatur pizzeria opened yesterday in the former Avellino’s space. Corner Slice, located on West College Avenue, serves thick-crust pan pizzas along with sandwiches on freshly baked focaccia bread. The new restaurant is owned by Comet Pub and Lanes partner Ben Horgan. (Atlanta Eater)
  2. DeKalb County Fire Rescue responded to a Decatur apartment fire on Thursday morning. The fire occurred at Hidden Valley Apartments on Misty Waters Drive around 12:43 a.m. The Red Cross is currently assisting 13 individuals that were displaced during the fire. (Decaturish.com)
  3. Hodgepodge Coffeehouse will be closing in Decatur next week. The closing announcement was made through Facebook. According to the announcement, the official closing date will be on Wednesday, Nov. 23. The closure is reportedly due to rising costs. The original location on Moreland Avenue in East Atlanta will remain open. (Atlanta Eater)
