  1. DeKalb County has progressed a proposal requiring all convenience stores in the county to have surveillance cameras. The proposed ordinance would require every register, entrance, exit, and gas pump would be required to have a camera. The proposal made it out of committee on Thursday. The DeKalb County Commission will now be voting on the ordinance. (Fox 5 Atlanta)
  2. A Decatur man has been arrested for a shooting that occurred at a Smyrna apartment complex. Decatur's Tavis Crankfield, 20 years old, was arrested by officers with the Cobb County Police Department's Violent Crime Bureau after chasing him on foot near Delk Road and Powers Ferry Road on Wednesday. He has been charged with felony murder and aggravated assault. (WSB Atlanta)
  3. The U.S. House has approved a name change for U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs facilities in Decatur. The facilities will soon bear the names of Isakson and Cleland. The names are those of former Georgia senators who championed the rights of service members. the renaming bill will now go to the desk of President Joe Biden to sign.
