- The Coleman's, a family who came upon a few unfortunate events which left them homeless is about to see better days. Last month they and their beloved rabbit, Goldie, were evicted from their home. A GoFundMe was set up for the Colemans and now the dad, who was at one point living in the cold outdoors with Goldie, and the four little girls, who were living in a shelter with their mom, are on the way to a more stable life, thanks to the kindness and strangers and community unity. - On March 8, the Avondale Estates City Commission approved a contract with Lexipol. As a result, the city is now going to develop a new police policy manual. Commissioner Lionel Laratte spoke during the meeting assuring the public that this is not being put in place to tell the police chief and law enforcers how to do their jobs, but rather to affirm the traditional approach of community engagement. - A Judge denied bond for all but 1 of 23 arrested for the attack that occurred at the planned police training facility. Those arrested are being charged with domestic terrorism. There was also a raid at the site of the Lakewood Environmental Arts Foundation (LEAF). (LEAF) is a well-known and trusted community resource that distributes fresh food to local community members and has done so for the last 6 years. ( https://www.wsbtv.com/news/loc...)
