- In honor of Ramadan, two humanitarian organizations are scheduled to host a community food distribution in Decatur on April 8. Islamic Relief USA is partnering with the Refugee Women's Network. The two will distribute food in observance of Ramadan. For 30 days in observance of their holy month, Muslims fast from dawn to dusk, they practice prayer, reflection, and commitment to the community. Food distribution is intended to be a way to practice empathy. (11Alive.com WXIA)
- The Atlanta Police Department issued a statement that it’s planning to facilitate a security software update. This announcement came following a rise in Kia and Hyundai car thefts. Social media posts have been popping up regarding the thefts. On April 5, Maj. Antonio Clay and other officers distributed free car clubs to residents in Southwest Atlanta in an attempt to decrease car thefts. (Decaturish.com)
- A report by two inspectors has been reviewed, leading to the stop work order being lifted at "Cop City." The Atlanta Police Foundation received an email at approximately 4:45 p.m. yesterday, stating that the stop work order was lifted. There have been reports confirming that the BMPs are now back in compliance with DeKalb County building codes. (Decaturish.com)

- The Glennwood DEI committee has been working hard to organize an exciting event. The event is entitled Cocktails and Conversation. It is scheduled for April 21. Participants will explore the concepts of fast fashion and clothing sustainability. (Glennwood PTA via Facebook)
- According to reports the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) is being stalled from releasing rules to regulate air pollution. Many are concerned that the effect this is having on the health of people and the environment is enough to act upon the situation with urgency. Our health and our #ClimateCantWait!
