- The Neighbors Market Chevron off of Flat Shoals Road in Decatur is closed. An employee of the store stated that a man driving a gold Toyota crashed into it on Tuesday morning causing an immense amount of damage. According to the statement, the man drove off after the crash. The store remains closed, and police are investigating. (11Alive.com WXIA)
- The Avondale Estates City Commission meets today at 5:30 p.m. for a regular meeting. A work session will follow. The city commission meeting will take place at Avondale Estates City Hall, 21 N. Avondale Plaza. Those who want to see it online can join via Zoom. Setting the qualifying fees for November's elections is on the agenda. (https://decaturish.com/categor...)
- Two lanes are closed on Commerce Drive and one lane is also closed on Clairemont Avenue in Decatur. A huge investment is going into the infrastructure of the two streets. Capital Projects Manager Hugh Saxon stated that the work could take up to three months. The work being performed is part of a project called the Church Street cycle track project. (Decaturish.com)
- Senators Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff, Gov. Brian Kemp, and Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens have all spoken against the violence that has taken place during the protest over the death of a 26-year-old environmental activist. The protesters were dressed in all black clothing, wearing masks as they threw rocks and set off an array of fireworks near the Atlanta Police Foundation. A state trooper has been shot and at least six people have been arrested due to the protests. (GPB News)
