Decatur Craft Beer Fest Tickets on Sale Next Week

Last year, tickets for the event sold out in an hour and a half.

Decatur beer lovers will need to be quick with their fingers next week if they want to buy tickets for the city’s yearly beer festival.

Tickets for the Decatur Craft Beer Fest go on sale on Sept. 15 at noon, Decatur Metro says. The event started in 2007 and has been steadily growing in popularity despite the explosion of beer festivals across the metro area. In 2013, tickets for the event sold out in 29 minutes. Although it took 90 minutes to sell out last year, prospective ticket buyers should still be ready to pounce when the gates open next week.

If you want the ultimate Decatur Craft Beer Fest experience, a VIP ticket is a must. There are only 300 of these special tickets available with a two ticket maximum per person. The perks of the ticket, found on the event’s website, are as follows:

With your VIP ticket you get to use the exclusive VIP entrance to gain access an hour before the main gates open and enjoy complimentary snacks all afternoon. You’ll also get to try very special beers made just for this festival by Georgia craft brewers including Burnt Hickory, Creature Comforts, Eventide, Monday Night, Reformation, Southbound, Sweetwater, Three Taverns, Terrapin, Twains, Yes, Face and tons more!

The event itself kicks off at noon on Oct. 17 and runs until 5 p.m. on the square in downtown Decatur. More than 80 breweries are expected to participate this year, the event’s website says, but a full list of participating breweries has not yet been released.

Musical acts The Blacktop Rockets, City Hotel, and Villain Family are scheduled to perform at the festival.
