  1. Daniel Gordon, a 24-year-old man who worked at the Tire Plus on 577 DeKalb Industrial Way is dead after being shot at work on New Year's Eve. According to DeKalb Police, it happened shortly before 1:30 p.m. Officers stated that when they arrived on the scene they found the victim with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital by ambulance where he was pronounced dead. DeKalb Police said a 30-year-old man, Quadarius McDowell brought his car to the shop for service and at some point, Gordon began to drive McDowell's car into the parking lot while doing so McDowell thought Gordon was attempting to steal his vehicle and it was at that point that he shot the Tire Plus employee. McDowell is now facing murder charges. (11Alive.com WXIA)

  4. It has been reported that on Friday 300 hundred dogs at the LifeLine Animal Project shelter were given antibiotics after a dog tested positive for dog flu. According to the CDC, there is no evidence that dog flu can be passed to humans but it is highly contagious, passing from dog to dog. (Decaturish.com )
