- A man was shot and killed at the Decatur Waffle House on Flat Shoals Road around 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday night. The shooting was the result of a fight that occurred between Waffle House customers. The victim's and the shooter's identities have not been released. No arrests have been made at this time. (Decatur-Avondale Estates Patch)
- Decatur superintendent Maggie Fehrman updated the City Schools of Decatur School Board on the 2023 Strategic Plan during Tuesday's meeting. The district is working with the Georgia School Boards Association in developing the plan. The purpose of the 2023 Strategic Plan is to set the direction for the district over the next five years. Over 650 individuals participated in the plan's development survey. (Decaturish.com)
- Avondale Estates will be starting a new holiday tradition this season. Lord of Misrule, the city's unofficial mascot, will be touring the different holiday events throughout December. The Lord of Misrule would be in charge of revelry and merriment during Medieval times in Tudor areas. Avondale Estates is known for its Tudor-style architecture. (Decaturish.com)
