A New Publix Is Opening In Decatur In November

DECATUR — A new Publix is set to open Nov. 3 in Decatur, according to the company. The Decatur grocery store will be located at 2720 East Ponce de Leon Avenue.

The 53,785-square-foot Publix will anchor the Sam’s Crossing development. According to the property management’s website, it’s a mixed-use development with 12,000-square-feet of retail space available with a restaurant opportunity available.

Earlier this month, the grocery chain announced plans to hire approximately 30,000 associates across the company’s seven-state operating area through the remainder of the year. The company will hire associates to work in stores, distribution centers and manufacturing facilities for nonseasonal positions, according to a news release.
