- The Decatur School Board met on Tuesday to discuss decolonizing the district's curriculum. The meeting was held in person at the Wilson School Support Center as well as being live-streamed. The district has been decolonizing the curriculum through various task forces such as the equity in education task force, the social studies task force, and the equity in assessments task force. - DeKalb County residents are encouraged to donate to the 3rd Annual Stuff the Bus Holiday Toy Drive. The drive will give the collected toys to local children in need during this year's holiday season. To participate, donate new, unwrapped toys in the Northlake Mall and Gallery at South DeKalb Mall parking lots on Saturday, Dec. 17, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (Press Release Desk)
- The DeKalb County Police Department is actively investigating a shooting that occurred on Monday night. The incident occurred on Clifton Church Road shortly after 10:00 p.m. One man has been pronounced dead as a result of the shooting. The victim was in his 50s.
