Decorative Crosswalk Project Underway in Decatur

Artful designs will be installed at 6 locations downtown, the city says.

DECATUR, GA -- Pedestrians in Decatur are taking in some new and colorful sights these days as work on several decorative crosswalks downtown has began in earnest.

At its completion, the beautification project will have installed artful designs at six crosswalks, including one on East Trinity Place and along East and West Ponce de Leon Avenues, the city recently said on its blog.

As workers put down the new designs, only one lane of vehicle traffic will be opened. Pedestrians can expect all sidewalks to remain unimpeded.

While the ramps linked to the crosswalks have already been built, they have not all been decorated, the city said.
