DeKalb County To Celebrate MLK On Jan. 13

Francys Johnson, president of the state NAACP, will deliver keynote address.

DECATUR, GA -- DeKalb County will celebrate the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday with a program titled “King’s Legacy of Peace with Justice for Our World" on Friday, Jan. 13, the county recently announced.

Francys Johnson, state president of the Georgia NAACP, will deliver the keynote address. Johnson has a long history with the NAACP, working in several capacities for the organization.

Several metro Atlanta communities are having MLK-themed events next weekend related to the holiday, which will be observed by most local governments on Jan. 16. All county offices in DeKalb will be closed that day.
