DeKalb County Food Scores: Athens Pizza, The Corner Pub, IHOP

DEKALB COUNTY, GA — If you're planning on supporting your local (or chain) restaurants this weekend and through next week, DeKalb County offers a variety of options no matter where you're at. From up north in Dunwoody down to Stonecrest and Lithonia, take a look at the latest restaurant inspection scores from the past week.

A total of 52 DeKalb County restaurants and food-service operations were inspected since Aug. 19 — the last time Patch posted a restaurant score roundup — in Atlanta, Avondale Estates, Brookhaven, Chamblee, Decatur, Doraville, Dunwoody, Lithonia and Stonecrest.

Of the 52 restaurants, 39 received grades of A, 12 of them received grades of B, and one received a C: Havana Soul Cafe in Chamblee. None received a grade of U, or unacceptable.

Each item on an inspection form has a point value ranging from 1 to 9 points, with violations deducting points from the best possible score of 100. Higher points are taken for items with higher risk to cause illness, while repeat violations take even more points.

Letter grades assigned are A for totals of 100 to 90 points, B for 89 to 80, C for 79 to 70 and U for less than 70.
