DeKalb County House Fire: 4 Children, 1 Adult Dead
An overnight house fire in DeKalb County on Jan. 9 killed four young children, one adult and the family's dog.
DEKALB COUNTY, GA — An overnight house fire on Saturdaykilled four children, one adult and the family’s dog, according to Fox 5 Atlanta.
DeKalb County Fire and Rescue got to the family home on Del Rio Terrace shortly after 12:30 a.m. Saturday to find smoke and flames spewing from the front windows and door, Fox 5 Atlanta reported. When crews reached the front bedroom, they found the deceased family.
BREAKING: An overnight house fire killed five people in DeKalb County — *four* of those victims were children, according to fire officials.

The cause of the fire has yet to be determined, and it was unclear if the home had any operating smoke detectors. Victims’ ages and names have not been released, but a neighbor said the children were “extremely young,” according to Fox 5 Atlanta.

Laura Toney, told Fox 5 Atlanta that she did not know the family well, but they recently moved in and were renting the property.
