  1. The DeKalb County Board of Health reports it has received the monkeypox vaccine and will begin offering appointments at local health centers in addition to having large vaccination clinics in the area. There are limited appointments available at the health centers. The first vaccination clinic will be held on Friday, July 29 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the North DeKalb Health Center. There are 200 appointments available. (DeKalb County Board of Health)
  2. According to authorities, two people died in custody at the DeKalb County Jail within four days. Officials reported that Vernon Dennis Head was found unresponsive in his cell on Friday. On Monday, Nina Maureen Colman died in the jail's infirmary. The cases are reportedly unrelated and the causes of death are currently being investigated. ( The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
  3. MARTA Reach, dubbed the "local Uber of public transit," has received great ratings during its pilot program. Many Atlanta residents don't live within walking distance of the MARTA route, which created the MARTA Reach solution, an on-demand ride-sharing service like Uber that will deliver residents to the closest MARTA stop. According to this Atlanta Magazine reporter, their experience using the new app was seamless. (Atlanta Magazine)
