  3. Unsightly-bare patches of dirt and muddy lawns during the spring and summer are no more! DeKalb County Parks & Recreation is listening to its county seat, Decatur, and agreed to add artificial, yet aesthetically pleasing- turf to some of its outdoor recreational settings. The additions will go to some of the county's playgrounds. This will also help with some of the drainage problems the county has dealt with in the past. (Champion)
  4. A chop shop operation was shut down after being discovered by the DeKalb County Police Department. The illegal operation allegedly consisted of stolen vehicles that were being dismantled. The parts from the vehicles were then later sold, allegedly. Residents living close to the Brookdale Place home, where the operation was set up stated that squatters had taken over the home for some time. (Decaturish.com)
  5. 🌱 A new vendor program is set to operate within four locations in Decatur Square. The announcement was made by a city official who also stated that the number of allowed food carts will be a total of eight. This adds to the diversity that already exists in the restaurant businesses in Decatur. (Patch)
