DeKalb County Restaurant Scores: Hattie Marie's BBQ, Five Guys

DEKALB COUNTY, GA — Almost 40 DeKalb County restaurants and food-service operations were inspected in the last week, including in Atlanta, Brookhaven, Chamblee, Decatur, Doraville, Dunwoody, Lithonia and Tucker. Here's how they fared in their health inspections since July 22.

A total of 39 eateries were inspected, with 26 of those entities receiving As and 10 of them receiving grades of B. Three received a grade of C — Las Recetas y Antojtos de la Abuela in Chamblee, as well as Mama Wings and Waffle House, both in Tucker — and none received an unacceptable score.

Each item on an inspection form has a point value ranging from 1 to 9 points, with violations deducting points from the best possible score of 100. Higher points are taken for items with higher risk to cause illness, while repeat violations take even more points.

Letter grades assigned are A for totals of 100 to 90 points, B for 89 to 80, C for 79 to 70 and U for less than 70.
