Decatur Man Arrested In Teen's Shooting
DeKalb County Sheriff's Office releases details in June 7 shooting of teen who was sitting in vehicle.

DECATUR, GA -- A 21-year-old man accused of shooting a teenager in the head has been arrested, according to the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office. Jamal Rashad Kerns was apprehended without incident on June 8 at his Decatur home. He was wanted on felony aggravated assault for wounding Malik Lamar Golar of Atlanta, law enforcement said.
The pair were sitting in a vehicle on Lansbury Village Drive in Atlanta when Kerns got out, according to the Sheriff's Office. After Kerns left the car, a bullet shot through the rear windshield hit Golar in the head. Golar is expected to survive the gunshot wound.
Law enforcement officers responded to a shots fired call related to the incident, according to the warrant. Kerns is in custody at the DeKalb County Jail.
