- Atlanta Science Festival events are taking place throughout Metro Atlanta. The festival is celebrating its tenth year in existence. The events are ongoing until March 25. The price ranges vary for admittance and participation and some of the events are actually free! On the final day, March 25, attendees may enter Piedmont Park for a free interactive science booth and live presentation between 10:00 a.m. - 4 p.m. ( https://atlantasciencefestival...)
- DeKalb County Department of Recreation, Parks, and Cultural Affairs is scheduled to hold its official opening ceremony for Pendergrast Park and its newly installed playground on Thursday, March 30, at 10 a.m. $577,818 was spent to complete the park improvements. Funds to complete the project were partially provided by the Park Pride’s Community Building Grant, supported by The Home Depot Foundation, Commissioner Michelle Spears, The Friends of Pendergrast Park, and the Parks Department. The public is invited to join the ceremony. - The CSD School Board's five-year strategic plan has been decided upon. The plan will be used as a guide to bring out the best efforts from the districts, students, educators, and community members. The plan also provides ways CSD can better approach and resolve disparities and injustices. According to Superintendent Maggie Fehrman, "this plan will ensure CSD can equitably and effectively meet the needs of all of our students.” (Decaturish.com )
